Code

It is clear this code was written by hand, most likely by a large team of developers. This is a massive site with many pages. However, the code is well organized with class and id names that are descriptive and make sense. I noticed they use the hidden checkbox method for their hamburger menu with class and id name ac-gn-menustate
. Additionally, there are multiple classes, including page-home
on the home page. The code is well organized and is not only put together by a bunch of divs: nav
, main
, footer
, and more are used to create the structure.
User Interface - UI

The user interface is very simple and has large pictures that show the products that Apple is selling. Most people visiting the website know generally what they are looking for, and there are links across the top that direct the user to a landing page for each type of product Apple sells. Additionally, the home pages lists their most popular products to help the customer navigate to the page/product they are looking for.
User Experience - UX

The entire site feels very easy to use. There are high quality pictures that capture the customer's eye and help them find what they are looking for. The navigation at the top shows all of the product categories that Apple sells, allowing the user to find the product they are looking for in just a few clicks. Additionally, there is plenty of information and images on each product's page for the website viewer to look through to help them decide on what to buy.
Summary
Overall, this website--despite being very large and complex--feels very simple and easy to use. The images are big and bright, and the information/product sections on the home page were carefully thought out to guide the user and generate sales.
